Lina stood apart in the neo-soul era by mixing contemporary R&B with swing and vintage vocal-jazz influences. Her Atlantic debut, Stranger on Earth, includes “Playa No Mo,” “It’s Alright” and “Step Up.” A distinctive meeting of old-school phrasing and early-2000s soul.
